Energy to action
Learning where to channel our energy is a key component of life. The Tao Te Ching, verse 6, states, "It is always present within you. You can use it any way you want." If we are all living with this energy and the potential to channel it into a focus we find meaningful and fulfilling then possibilities feel infinite. Yet, with all knowledge, this antidote doesn’t propel us to make grandiose changes. It takes effort like a salmon swimming upstream.
In my career, I have felt my ideas pass without expression, un-manifested, as I long awaited the right time to make a change. In this process, I felt myself waning and losing my creative potential. I knew it required stepping into an unknown space.
This led to Newton’s Third Law of Motion, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction” which states far too simple a vastly more broad-reaching and beautiful principle. Widely accepted in the varying actions and reactions that play out in our physical world, it can, however, ring just as true in the metaphysical one. When our perspective broadens to see the interplay of thoughts and emotions of our sacred inner world and their cosmic effect on our outer one—one cannot deny as truth this same principle under Newton's Law.
As I pondered the metaphysical side of Newton's Third Law, Tao te Ching, and principles of manifestation—I began to think more about how one’s intentional energy can not only affect but actually shape the outcome of our reality.
So, on the eve of the fiery Aries new moon—a force of new beginning, the encroachment of Spring, the season of rebirth—I created State of Expressive Being. My energy, my ‘action’, propelled me to change my intention with the universe and more importantly, myself.
State of Expressive Being is very personal, not only is it my initials of SEB, but it is the truest form of self-expression and dialogue I have put out into the world, in a long while.
I intend for this space to;
broaden my creative outlet,
bring fruition to ideas too long in the making,
better align my values in my work, &
forge collaborated efforts with like-minded individuals.
I will continue to question whether I am intentionally using my energy to forge the correct life path.
